CSCA Fall Festival 2013
Well folks, summer holidays have almost ended. In fact some kids are even back at school, and fall is just around the corner.
To celebrate the coming of fall (or maybe mourning the passing of summer), the Coral Springs Community Association (CSCA) will be hosting their Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, September 7th 2013 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the South Beach House.
There will be food, a climbing wall and bouncers for all to enjoy.
The Fall Festival is free for all CSCA members, but non members will be charged a nominal fee of $5.00 per person, or you can buy your CSCA membership at the gate. The CSCA depends on your $20 a year membership to host these kinds of events and also to help with some of the upkeep around the community. If you haven’t purchased your membership, please contact any one of the Board Members and they will arrange for a pick up.
CSCA Golf Tournament 2013
The Coral Springs Community Association will be holding its annual Golf Tournament at “The Apple Creek Golf Course”, on August 24, 2013. The golf tournament has always been a lot of fun, and you don’t have to be a great golfer to have a great time. First tee time is at noon sharp.
The Apple Creek Golf Course is just north of Airdrie on Township Road 275. Maps will be provided, or you can click here to have google maps show you how to get to the golf course from Coral Springs.
After the tournament, a wind up dinner will be held at the Northeast Sportsplex (NESS).
Cost is $110.00 per golfer and includes 18 holes of golf, power cart, dinner and prizes. Dinner only is $30.00.
Deadline for registration is August 17th 2013. Please contact Diane Stevenson to register.
Spring Clean Up 2013
Well folks, I guess it’s that time of the year. Spring has sprung, or at least it will, once it decides to stop snowing. But hey, this is sunny, snowy, rainy Calgary, and even though we should be used to it by now, doesn’t mean we have to like it.
It was also that time of the year when the residents of the communities of Ward 5, joined Alderman Ray Jones for the third annual Community Clean-Up Day on Saturday June 15th from 9 am to 2 pm at the Westwinds Police Campus.
The City of Calgary Waste & Recycling Services and other recycling companies were on site to collect residential waste and recycling materials at no charge.
Calgary Stampede Community Round Up
Genesis Centre and the Calgary Stampede hosted a “Stampede Round Up “the morning of Saturday June 8th2013 to celebrate the start of the next century of stampedin.
This free community festival started with a pancake breakfast and was then followed by some free Stampede entertainment.
Everyone had a blast.
CSCA Community Garage Sale 2013
The Coral Springs Community Association held their Annual Community Garage Sale on June 1st. and June 2nd. (Saturday & Sunday) from 9 am to 4 pm each day.
Maps were available at the Beach House, and with maps in hand, many people wandered around the community, even though Mother Nature sprinkled us from above.
The Association would like to thanks all those that hosted their garage sales and also those that patronized those sales.
CSCA – Annual General Meeting
The Coral Springs Community Association held their Annual General Meeting on March 25th 2013, in the PSA Boardroom of the Don Harman Northeast Sportsplex.
A large number of residents (the most in a few years), packed the boardroom, and took in the community updates from Alderman Ray Jones (Ward 5), Alderman Jim Stevenson (Ward 3), the Hon. Manmeet Bhullar (MLA for Calgary-Greenway, Minister of Service Alberta), and the Calgary Police Service.
With a few of the current board members retiring, the association members present at the AGM elected a new set of board members.

CSCA Family Skate 2013 – CANCELLED
The Coral Springs Community Association (CSCA) regrets to announce that we have no choice but to CANCEL the Family Skate that was to be held on Sunday, February 17th. 2013, from 1:00 – 4:00 pm, at the South Beach House.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature decided to not cooperate and has spoilt us Calgarians with this unseasonally warm weather. As such the ice on the lake is not as solid as we hoped it would be.
This years skating event has been postponed until next year when we hope for colder weather (I can’t believe I’m hoping for cold weather ).
